چکیده
Abstract Background We examined the impact of bisphosphonates as adjuvant therapy on recurrence giant cell bone tumors and various tumor stages surgical techniques this effect. Following a thorough examination literature up to January 2022, 10 studies including 601 adults with were reported; 295 these subjects received following surgery, 306 served control group. To examine possibility lowering tumors, comparison between group was made. In order evaluate tumor, odds ratios (OR) 95% confidence intervals (CIs) determined. Additionally, dichotomous technique random or fixed-effect model used effects pertinent procedures. Results Patients who had significantly lower postoperative rates outcomes in all (OR 0.19; CI 0.12–0.31, p = 0.001), patients stage I–II 0.29; 0.11–0.76, 0.01), III 0.17; 0.07–0.42, < 0.001); post-intralesional curettage 0.18; 0.06–0.49, 0.001) compared control. Bisphosphonates participants after broad excision, but there no discernible difference two groups terms 0.66; 0.11–3.91, 0.65). Conclusions intralesional curettage, use may incidence outcomes, appreciable identified extensive resection. According observed relationship, using is advised likelihood that can happen bone.

Giant cell tumor of the sphenoid bone
Background: Giant cell tumor is a benign but locally aggressive bone neoplasm which uncommonly involves the skull. Giant cell tumor (GCT) of the sphenoid bone is relatively rare. In this report, we describe a tumor of the greater wing of left sphenoid bone. Case presentation: A 31-year-old female was presented with headache, proptosis and diplopia of her left eye. Cranial magnetic resonance ima...
متن کاملGiant Cell Tumor of Bone - an Overview
Giant Cell tumors (GCT) are benign tumors with potential for aggressive behavior and capacity to metastasize. Although rarely lethal, benign bone tumors may be associated with a substantial disturbance of the local bony architecture that can be particularly troublesome in peri-articular locations. Its histogenesis remains unclear. It is characterized by a proliferation of mononuclear stromal ...

متن کاملSecondary Malignant Transformation of Giant Cell Tumor of Bone: Is It a Fate?
The malignant transformation of conventional giant cell tumor of bone (GCTOB) is rare and usually occurs with irradiation. Here we report two neglected cases of conventional GCTOB with spontaneous malignant transformation at 11 and 16 years after initial diagnosis. In the former case, the patient refused to receive any treatment following the incisional biopsy, and in the latter, the firs...
متن کاملDenosumab in Patients with Giant Cell Tumor and Its Recurrence: A Systematic Review
Recent studies suggest that Denosumab reduces tumor size, therefore, makes the surgery easier with lowermorbidity. However, some studies have reported several complications for this drug. So, this systematic reviewwas performed to determine the effectiveness and safety of Denosumab in reducing bone destructions activity ofgiant cell tumor and skeletal-related events (SRE) in affected patients w...
